Clayton Boyer Clock Designs

Electra is a simple electric clock that is an example of state-of-the-art mechano-electric clocks of the late 19th century. Electra has a unique "Hipp" escapement that impulses the pendulum only occasionally as the swing begins to slow down. There are no real gears in this clock. The hands are moved by a unique series of cams and levers, so there is always lots of movement to view inside this clock. And best of all, because it is electric, it is nearly trouble free, and never requires any winding. You can watch Electra ticking away on the YouTube player below, or by clicking on my You Tube video here: Electra
